Internal Committee (IC) – Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act

At Harivandana College, Rajkot, we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all members of our academic community. In accordance with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, the Internal Committee (IC) has been constituted to address and redress complaints related to sexual harassment at the workplace.

The Committee functions as a confidential, impartial, and accessible body ensuring that every individual on campus—students, faculty, and staff—feels secure and empowered to work or study without fear or discrimination.

Objectives

  • To prevent, prohibit, and redress any form of sexual harassment on campus.
  • To create awareness about gender sensitivity, rights, and respectful conduct.
  • To provide a fair and prompt mechanism for the resolution of complaints.
  • To promote a culture of equality, dignity, and mutual respect within the institution.

Functions

  • Receive and address complaints of sexual harassment in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Conduct inquiries and recommend appropriate actions as per legal guidelines.
  • Organize awareness programs, workshops, and orientation sessions on gender sensitization and workplace ethics.
  • Ensure adherence to the principles of natural justice and fairness during proceedings.
