International Volunteer Day (IVD) and World Soil Day (WSD) are both celebrated on December 5th: 

• International Volunteer Day

  A day to celebrate volunteers and organizations, and to promote their work and values. The 2023 theme was "the power of collective action: if everyone did". 

• World Soil Day

  A day to raise awareness of the importance of healthy soil and to advocate for sustainable soil management. The UN General Assembly designated December 5, 2014 as the first official World Soil Day.
