About Course


BPT is an abbreviated form of Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree. Bachelor of Physiotherapy is an Under Graduate Degree which is awarded for a course or program in Physiotherapy. Physiotherapy is a medical science field which uses physical agents like exercise, massage and other modalities for providing treatment to those patients whose movement and function are threatened by ageing. injury, disease or environmental factors.

 

Eligibility Criteria for B.P.T.

The minimum eligibility criterion for admission to B. Sc. is that the student must be a Higher Secondary Exam Passed (10 + 2)  - 12th Pass in science discipline with Biology Group from Gujarat Education and Higher Education Board or any other board recognized by Saurashtra University is the criterion. 

Higher Secondary Exam (10 + 2) passed in Science discipline with Biology subject  from Gujarat Higher Education Board

OR

Higher Secondary Exam (10 + 2) passed in Science discipline with Biology subject from Other board recognized by Saurashtra University

Course Duration


BPT is 4½ years including internship of 6 months. Physical Therapy Programs provide core skills like manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and the application of electro physical modalities. to the prospective students. It inculdes following subjects.

  • Anatomy
  • Exercise Therapy
  • Orthopaedics and Sports Physiotherapy
  • Neuro-Physiotherapy
  • Community Based Rehabilitation.

 

After This Course


  • After clearing Bachelor of Physiotherapy program, one can pursue Masters in Physical Therapy. A Physiotherapist can go for a certification in a sub-speciality of Physiotherapy. These speciality areas include cardiovascular and pulmonary. sports therapy, geriatric. neurological. orthopaedic. paediatric. and electrophysiologic physical therapy.
  • A candidate who has attained the Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree can set up his or her own Physiotherapy clinic.
